Study on Vibration Control and Parameters Influence of Cable Inerter Viscous Damping System

In this study, a single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) model with cable inerter viscous damper (CIVD) is established, and the vibration control equations frequency response functions are established. Then, influence of parameters, including inertia mass ratio, additional damping stiffness studied. Finally, dynamic time history analysis SDOF CIVD under earthquake fluctuating wind load carried out to verify performance CIVD. The research shows that can be amplified hundreds times through rotation, so as realize lightweight high efficiency make up for engineering defects traditional TMD system. Meanwhile, when designing CIVD, ratio should reduced much possible condition meeting target ratio. significantly suppress resonance structure continuous in stable state. peak displacement by 30%–50%. Installing element only structural vibration, but it cannot reduce amplitude steady CID inertial force output original structure, rotating speed high, shaking fast. Therefore, order acceleration, velocity, at same time, we must add appropriate inerter, damping, stiffness.
